Privacy
Updated 6 November 2026
Firmbrief is run by Jack Harley (ABN 33 491 167 854) in Melbourne, Victoria. In this policy, "we" and "us" means Jack. This page explains what happens to the information you give us on this website: the pages themselves, the chat assistant and the booking form.
It doesn't cover the client intake systems we set up for law firms. Those are covered by our agreement with each firm and by the firm's own privacy policy.
What we collect
- The booking form. Your name, email, firm and mobile, plus the link you arrived from (for example, if you came from one of our emails).
- The chat assistant. The messages you type. Please don't put client details in the chat; it's only there to answer questions about Firmbrief.
- Booking a call. If you pick a time, the calendar is run by Cal.com, which collects the details you enter there (such as your name, email and the time you choose).
- Contacting Jack directly. Anything you send by email, phone or WhatsApp.
- Technical information. Our web host, Netlify, keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address. The chat assistant also uses your IP address for a short time to limit repeated requests. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which also receives your IP address.
This site has no analytics or advertising cookies. Your browser tab keeps a count of chat messages you've sent (in session storage), which is cleared when you close the tab.
How we use it
To answer your question, arrange and hold the call you asked for, and follow up with you about Firmbrief. We don't sell your information or share it with anyone else for their own marketing. If you'd like us to stop contacting you, just say so.
Who else handles it, and where
- Netlify hosts this website and stores booking form submissions. Submissions are also emailed to Jack.
- OpenAI receives your chat messages to write the assistant's reply. Under OpenAI's API policies, API data isn't used to train their models by default.
- Cal.com runs the booking calendar.
- Google serves the fonts and handles Jack's email.
These providers may store or process your information outside Australia, including in the United States.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with you, and delete them when you ask, unless we need to keep something by law.
Access, correction and complaints
We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing jack@jackbuilds.co or calling 0431 215 460.
If you have a concern, please contact Jack first and we'll try to fix it. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
